This coming week we’ll celebrate 50 Years of Earth Day. It’s a time to not only learn about our planet, but also focus on things that we can do to keep our planet healthy and beautiful. This coming week, all of our activities/experiments will be “Earth Day Themed”. This week we’ll explore the effects of pollution, investigate how plants grow and “eat”, create an earth day moments, and design and build a bird house out of recycled materials! Remember, each day’s activity is posted here on the blog: www.clubscikidzmd.com/blog/
As always, we have tried to keep our activities/experiments limited to materials you already have at home. Here are a few items that you may not have on hand.
Materials needed:
- Dry lima beans (just a few; generally found in bags in the rice and/or international aisle)
- Paint (craft paint is perfect)
- Sponge (that can be cut up)
- Fishing line or thread (about 12 aches long)
- Pancake syrup or honey (or something else similar that is sticky)
- Salt (1/2 cup)
- Recycled items to make a bird house (ex. old can, plastic tub/jug, plastic bottle, plastic plate, etc.)
