Junior Girl Scouts Robotics Program–
Club SciKidz is pleased to offer a program that will allow girls to meet the requirements of the three, new robotics programs. A large part of the program will be spent learning and working with the components of robots and then getting hands on experience coding them to do commands such as movement and sound. The girls will be using Lego WeDo and Scratch, the coding program. By the end of the program, the girls will earn all three of the new robotics badges. Club SciKidz is designing the course specifically to align with and exceed the requirements of the new badges.

Grades K-3rd- Coding with DASH and DOT!
Meet “Dash and Dot” and experience a whole different way of programming robots. Using games with animation and stories, kids learn to program these bots with light, sound, sensors, and movement, understand the basics of coding, and are introduced to the world of computer science fundamentals. Programming is thought to be the next language that all campers need to learn and we make it fun!
Grades 3rd- 6th- Robots, Gaming, and Coding w/ Lego and Scratch
Learn basic coding skills with Scratch and use them to code WeDo Lego Robotics. Students will build structures and objects with the Legos they love, and bring them to life by coding the actions using Scratch. This class is a great way to extend your child’s love for Legos and introduce them to the world of coding and gaming. In the second half of camp student will take what they have learned and. go beyond the basics and build projects such as a Batmobile, Space Shuttle and more!
Grades K-6th- Mechanics, Motors & More
Discover what makes engines go and what makes hovercrafts hover! Build and take home your own solar powered vehicle while learning about the mechanics and motors. Enjoy the wonder of science and technology as you build your own hover racer that skims smoothly across the floor supported by a cushion of air. Engineer an egg crash car and see if yours can pass the test! All materials are provided for you to design and take home your vehicles. (This class has a $35 lab fee.)
